R.C. Hopper

Thirty-two years ago at the age of 33, R.C. Hopper came to worship at Sanford Hill Baptist Church for the very first time. On that very first visit God's Holy Spirit took the Word of God, preached by Dr. George Clark, to convince and convict R.C. of his sinful nature and the willingness and power of God to forgive and give him a place in the family of God. R.C. has been growing and going ever since. Since becoming a Christian, R.C. says he has spent more time in the Word. He tries to read his Bible every day. His study of the Word at home and at church has given him a longing to see the lost saved. Therefore, along with his Bible study time, he has a time of prayer for the lost and the needs of others.

R.C. and Linda are a very important resource for our church. If you come in the main entry way before Sunday School, you know R.C. is there to greet you and provide you with a bulletin. He is very faithful to visit those in the hospital and is often with families during their waiting time during a family member's surgery. Very likely there has been a time when you have called on this couple to pray for you.

It will come as no surprise to those who know R.C. that his favorite hymns are "He Hideth My Soul" and "It Is Well with My Soul." R.C. claims John 3:16 as his favorite verse of the Bible.

When asked about his goals and dreams for our church R.C. responded, "I want to see more souls come to know Jesus and for our church to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit as God leads. I also want my church family to know I am here to help them in any way I can.
